Mr. Williams - Principal

Lance Williams
Dear Ken Caryl Middle School Community,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.

I am excited to be the new principal for the Ken Caryl community. I have been in school leadership for 15 years and most recently served as principal in Jeffco at Patterson International for the past 5 years. I have two children who attend Jeffco Schools and my wife is also in education supporting Jeffco Schools. I am native of Colorado and grew up in Aurora, attended the University of Northern Colorado for both undergraduate and graduate studies. I enjoy spending time outdoors. I love riding my mountain bike on local single track and fishing.

I would like to share some important information with you:

School Supplies: A list of required school supplies for each grade level is in this LINK and available on the school website. Please ensure your child comes to school prepared with the necessary materials to make the most of their learning experience.

Communication Channels: We believe that open communication between school and home is vital for the success of our students. You can expect regular updates through emails, newsletters, and our school website. Additionally, we encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher or the school administration should you have any questions or concerns.

Safety Measures: The health and safety of our students remain our top priority. We will have a new secure entrance for all visitors to check in before they enter the building. We will also have a campus supervisor that will help monitor the campus and ensure that our building remains safe for students and staff.  We will continue to implement regular sanitization, handwashing protocols, and monitoring of students' health. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these measures to create a safe environment for everyone.

Extracurricular Activities: We offer a diverse range of extracurricular activities to provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, develop talents, and build friendships. We will continue to participate in the Middle School Sports Program for all students, and as a staff we will continue to explore how we can embed clubs and activities into our programming with our new start and end times.

I want to assure you that our dedicated team of educators is committed to nurturing each student's potential, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or require further assistance.

Thank you for choosing Ken Caryl Middle School. Your trust in us is deeply appreciated, and we are excited about the amazing things we will accomplish together.

Go Spartans,

Lance Williams

Mrs. Roberts - Assistant Principal

Roberts
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am personally ready for an amazing year.

I am so excited for my fourth year as a member of the Ken Caryl Spartan family. I could not be happier to be at a school with such a long history of excellence. I enjoy working with middle students whom I know to be curiously engaged in their school. I bring my experience in the classroom and administration to help and support students, teachers and staff to create a stronger school and community. I believe in teaching students that we are a community of learners and that we need to take care of one another. I believe that all students can be successful and have areas that they are strong and areas to develop.

I am a Colorado native, attended Jefferson County Schools from kindergarten through graduation, and graduated from CSU in Family and Consumer Science. Following graduation, I spent 11 years in Douglas County as a FACS teacher and school administrator at the high school level. The last seven years in administration have fulfilled a desire to serve families, students, and community in ways I could not in the classroom. I have always felt my heart belonged to Jefferson County and I love being back home.

I hope to get to know each and every one of you!
